Setting: The geographic qualities that contribute to the design, appearance and backdrops of the course.
Conditioning: The overall conditions of the tee boxes, fairways, rough, bunkers, greens and course perimeters.
Design: Variety in hole shape, difficulty, length, slope, hazards in play, pin positions, contours / tiers of greens.
Shot making: Test of accuracy, length and finesse using most clubs without overemphasizing one shot or club.
Scoring: The overall difficulty / fairness of the course for players of varying abilities using different tee boxes.
Practice facilities: The availability of a driving range, putting and / or chipping green(s), practice bunker(s).
Ambience, aesthetics: Impressions and memories of the course, combined with the quality of its scenic vistas. |
