Niagara Golf Landscape Expands
3 new layouts open in Niagara

After several years of unparalleled golf course development in Niagara, 2003 and 2004 were relatively inactive years in terms of new courses opening in Niagara. But all that changed with the recent opening of four new golf courses, several designed by well-known golf course architects and golf celebrities - Rene Muylaert, Rees Jones and John Daly.

Rees Jones Course # 17 @ Grand Niagara

Rees Jones Course @ Grand Niagara
The Rees Jones Course at The Grand Niagara Resort is complete and open for public play. Work on the Greg Norman executive design will begin in 2009, with the course slated to open in 2010.
Both courses will be designed with recreational golfers of all playing abilities in mind, but the Rees Jones design is being built with an eye to hosting major tournament events.

Thundering Waters GC
Thundering Waters GC # 10, 18 & 9 One of the PGA Tour's most popular players, John Daly, has co-designed the Thundering Waters GC in Niagara Falls. The golf course truly reflects John Daly's golf, rewarding length off the tee, calculated risk taking, shot making, and putting.

Sparrow Lakes GC
Heron Course
The completion of the Rene Muylaert-designed Heron Course makes Sparrow Lakes GC the only 36-hole golf facility in Niagara.
The project combines the original 9 holes of the Heron (opened in 2003) with 9 new holes into a re-routed 18-hole design. The course is already in great shape and demanding on two counts - its length and the numerous lakes (17 in all) which come into play on all but four holes.
