| The Battlefield Course (Doug Carrick, architect) presents a sweeping vista across a gently contoured lakes-and-meadow countryside. Battlefield is made up of an interesting blend of lakeside holes, links-style holes bordered by tall fescue, and a handful of secluded holes surrounded by mature Carolinian forest. Water comes into play on seven holes. Where water doesn't come into play, strategically positioned fairway, waste and greenside bunkers do. ( Battlefield profile )
The Ussher's Creek Course, (Thomas McBroom, architect) has an understated look that blends with the natural landscape, and several holes are defined by Ussher's Creek itself. Ussher's Creek is made up of a mix of water holes, Scottish links-style holes, and (predominantly) woodland holes with tree-lined fairways. Water comes into play on nine holes, and where it doesn't, clusters of strategically positioned fairway and greenside bunkers do. ( Ussher's Creek profile ) |
