Thomas (Tom) McBroom, a graduate of the University of Guelph's School of Landscape Architecture, has designed some of this country's most memorable and strategically challenging golf courses.
With more than 60 golf courses in the McBroom portfolio, the 51-year-old Toronto native has risen to the top of Canada's architectural ranks and onto the international stage. He is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, with offices and a design studio in Toronto. |
| Especially busy here in Ontario, several new McBroom layouts are scheduled to open in 2004 - 2005 including Wildfire Golf Course (Peterborouogh), FireRock Golf Course (London), Glencairn Golf Course (Milton), Oviinbyrd Golf Course (Port Carling), The Ridge at Manitou (McKellar), Raven Club at Lora Bay (Collingwood) - with Tom Lehman, the Ambassador Golf Course (Windsor), and Whitewater Golf Course (Thunder Bay).
 |
| Over the past decade, four of his designs have been named by Golf Digest as" Best New Canadian Course" - The Links at Crowbush Cove (1994), The Lake Joseph Club (1997), Bell Bay Golf Club (1998) and Timberwolf Golf Club (2000). Nine of his courses were ranked among the Top-100 courses in Canada by SCORE Golf Magazine in 2002.

Perennially selected as a Teeing It Up NIAGARA favourite, this Thomas McBroom design is part of the Legends on the Niagara complex - destined to become Canada's premier public golf facility. The Ussher's Creek course (pictured above) has an understated look that blends with the natural landscape, and several holes of this challenging venue are shaped and defined by Ussher's Creek itself. A Nicol Thomspon design, Sawmill Golf Course offers an enjoyable golf experience in a picturesque setting. Characterized by rolling hills, deciduous woodlands and meandering creeks, the golf course blends naturally into the surrounding farmlands. Well-manicured fairways, undulating greens, numerous water hazards and bunkers add to the challenge and beauty of every hole. |
